There are lots of home security systems available in the market today. I’m going to make a consumer report on some of them and make a detailed and user-friendly description as much as possible.
4 Hidden Cameras is the worldwide leader in the industry. Let us explore why this is so. But first let us read what a hidden camera is.
A hidden camera is one used to film on persons without their knowledge. It is dubbed hidden because it is concealed through another object. They can also be incorporated into smoke detectors and motion detectors which are household alarm systems themselves.
There are different kinds of hidden cameras too. These are the wired cameras, the micro cameras, the CCTV security cameras, the infrared and LED cameras and body worn cameras.
This is my consumer report on the various wireless cameras found in the market today. They are actually divided into several categories. There’s the MicroTek Electronics, the Special Project Video Links, the Wireless Video Farming, the Outdoor Wireless, the Long-Range Weatherproof Video Links, the Baby Monitors, the Airborne Video Systems, the Specialized Systems, the Extended Range Systems, the 1-WATT Color Airborne and Virtual Reality Glasses and the Rocket Wireless Airborne Video.
I will write about the baby monitors first because this has fascinated me in one way or another. Baby monitors enable you to see and hear your baby. It operates at the 2.4 GHz band which is relatively crowd-free with a range of up to 1.5 miles. Now, isn’t that amazing? It is also portable and easy to install. It is actually in the form of a teddy bear which I’m pretty sure your toddler will love to cuddle. The camera is installed inside the teddy bear. If you are in the living room of your house attending to some chores and your dear baby is upstairs, you can simply monitor your baby’s movements at your regular television set. It actually comes in three versions – the 300 meter range, the 1 mile range and the 1.5 mile range. For the 1.5 mile range, you need to have an amateur radio license before you can secure one. The price is at $299 only. Isn’t that a relatively small amount for the safety of your beloved baby? Operational temperature requirement is your usual room temperature at 0-40 degrees Celsius.
Physical security encompasses anything that has to do with your safety. It can be as simple as a locked door or as elaborate as multiple layers of armed bodyguards.
This will be a consumer report on the various brands and companies out there offering alarm monitoring services.
First stop is Brink’s Home Security. Brink’s emergency response center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. Once your alarm goes off, the intruder is greeted with a 90-decibel alarm. Wow, that will surely hurt his or her ears, right?
The alarm will also be sent to the emergency response center. Mind you, its signal travels through fiber optic cables ensuring its speed and clarity. Of course, Brink’s has a highly secure alternative phone routes in case of a power blackout. Brink’s security alarm also notifies you that it has detected a dangerous level of carbon monoxide in your home. Now, isn’t that more than a reason to get this particular product? What’s more, all of Brink’s employees – especially in their emergency response center – are highly trained professionals. They do have several – their security consultants, their installation technicians and their rapid response center operators. Take note, their installation technicians are certified by the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association.
Driveway security is essential to prevent your cars from being hijacked. It is also ideal for entrances and exits in your driveway or even in your forecourts. There are actually many forms of driveway alarms. There is the hose driveway alarm which looks like your gas station hose. There is also the magnetic driveway alarm which has a range of up to two miles. Take note that driveway alarms are not just for warding off carjackers. They are also installed to inform you that guests have already arrived. They are to deter trespassers because driveway alarms are equipped with sirens and glaring lights. You can also have your choice of sirens – either the classical tone, the whistle, the Westminster chime or the ding dong.
Don’t be a victim of burglary. Always secure all doors and windows in your home. Here are some tips: Always leave your curtains on. Always bolt all your doors and curtains especially if you are outside your home. Never leave your key in the pothole or any other places of concealment. Remember, thieves easily find keys at the usual hiding places. Always carry your key – including your car keys – inside your wallet.
There are quite a number of products concerning home security out there. Most of the large ones – like ADT Security Services (a division of Tyco) and Brink’s Home Security – also offer central monitoring centers which monitor your alarms 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends. Of course, there is a subscription fee for the service. These are certified in turn by an independent non-government group called Underwriters Laboratories.
Security system monitoring encompasses such a broad field that there are lots of aspects in this essential subject. Let’s deal with wired security for the moment.
First, a wired security system panel is usually located at the basement of a house. It is then connected to various sensors throughout the home. If the sensors detect a problem, the signal then travels to the central monitoring station where the alarm company is notified and reinforcement will then arrive at your home. The wired security has another advantage too.
Every year, two million American households are burglarized. But choosing a home alarm monitoring firm may be quite expensive, so take a look at the following tips. Above all, you must take time to choose the right home alarm monitoring firm for you since this scheme is essential for the protection of your family. And take note that there is a monthly cost for the service.
First, contact the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association. Inquire from them a list of member companies of the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association. If an online store advertises alarm products but you cannot find it from the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association list, chances are the company is a hoax and you’ve been duped.
