Monitoring your Emergency Exits

Emergency Exit doors are designed for the safety of the people inside a building or an establishment in case of an urgent situation. But these doors if not monitored properly can be venues for intrusion. If these exits are not properly supervised, anybody can just come in and out of it, without the attention of the owners of the establishment. These can be easy access to possible thefts and other people with the wrong intentions.

Emergency exit door alarms can stop these doors from giving the opportunity for these people to carry out their objectives. The Emergency Exit Decal and Emergency Exit Door Alarm STI-6400 Exit Stopper are there for this purpose.

Emergency Exit Decal is a simple marker that you can stick on the door to stop the unauthorized exits and entries through the emergency doors. It is highly visible and is 5”x5” in measurement. The Emergency Exit Door Alarm on the other hand goes beyond just warning the possible intruder to not use the door but gives off an alarm when it is used. This way the store personnel or owner can be alerted when there is an unauthorized use of the exit door. Like the Emergency Exit Decal, it too has a visible sign that in itself acts as a restriction to its use. But it has an additional unbreakable polycarbonate housing that has an 85 to 105 decibel warning horn will be activated in the event of an unauthorized exit or entry. You can also choose to use it as an alarm or an annunciator. In the annuciator mode, an alert signal in the form of 5 beeps will be sent off in the action of a door use. For the alarm mode, once the door is opened the alarm releases a very loud noise. This can be set to a 30 second, 3 minutes or a continuous alarm that can only be shut off by the authorized person using a key. After the door closes, it automatically resets. The alarm can easily be installed on any area near the door and the magnet switch assembly on any part of the door. It can also be installed on steel or wooden doors and comes in red and green colors.

Do not overlook the monitoring of your emergency exit doors. Although it is primarily made for the safety of the people inside the space, it may very well be a tool to risk the safety that should have been protected.
