The GE NX-4 Fastpack Alarm System has some of the most useful and popular optons making it one of the most convenient, cost-effective, and easy to use, security system for your home or office. Component Include: GE Fastpacks contain NX4 Control Panel, 8 zone LED Keypad, Sentrol PI-6000 motion sensor, 15W speaker, RJ cord & block, transformer, battery.
This GE alarm system has a mountain of accessories if desired - extra keypads, window and door sensors, and even a GE, ITI, Caddx Wireless Panic Pendant!
This system may not be the easiest for the do-it-yourself person, as the alarm panel should be installed on an interior wall and wires hidden behind the wall

Good security system if you can have it professional installed
I was goint to attempt to install this security panel on my own and decided that it would be better to get a professional to do it. I like the features of the GE NX-4, but I would not recommend being careful with the Recessed Door/Window Transmitters. I ordered two with the GE NX-4 and drilled incorrectly causing too much of a hole on my basement window frame. Overall a great system with no problems though.

Does the GE FastPack come with mounting hardware?
I was curious to know if this GE security system comes with mounting hardware or if you have to find it on your own? Also, what is the difficulty rating for installation of this unit from a 1 to 10? My neighbor has a GE system much like the NX-4, but I wanted to get other's feedback.

Good wireless security options on the GE NX-4
At first I was going to hardwire everything - windows, doors, motion detectors, etc. After about 2 hours trying to diagram out what and where things were going I decided to just order several of the wireless GE ITI Micro window and door sensors (3.0 volt lithium coin-cell sensors).
A word of advice to anyone thinking about ordering this security system; definitely get a few of the wireless window/door sensors if you are installing yourself. This makes life much better. Also, you may want to install the Wireless ShatterPro Glassbreak Sensor as an added security measure. My brother had a security system without the glass detection and somehow the petty thiefs slipped right past it.
