BioCert iQBio Guardian XL Fingerprint Lock

Biometrics stands for “life-measure”. In other words, biometric systems are systems that are designed to “measure” our physical bodies to serve a purpose. Currently, biometrics is commonly used for safety measures and locking apparatuses.

Biometric locks are the safety locks of the future. Although the most common safety measures nowadays require us to input a customized password or insert a unique key, with biometric locks, our own bodies becomes the key. Because of this, our biometric key cannot, in any way, be lost or forgotten. Also, because our biometric code is unique only to us, the risk of it getting hacked or stolen is minimal.

A good example of a biometric safety lock is a door lock that reads fingerprints. Since each person has a unique fingerprint imbedded into our fingers, there is no way we could lose this “data” unless we took measures to erase it on purpose (such as filing your fingers). Also, another person’s fingerprints are completely different from ours, ensuring us that the only person that can open the lock is the one person that should.

If you’re still thinking that biometric locks can only be seen in science fiction movies and is only available for government agencies, you’ll be surprised that there is a biometric lock available for general use. We introduce you to the BioCert iQBio Guardian XL.

BioCert iQBio Guardian XL

The BioCert iQBio Guardian XL is a biometric fingerprint-reading lock that is designed for everyday home or office use. This state-of-the-art item uses high performance scanners to scan a person’s fingerprint, which it then converts into mathematical algorithmic “codes”. Unlike other fingerprint scanners which actually take a photograph-like copy of the user’s fingerprint and compares it with the user’s fingerprint every time they try to open the lock, BioCert iQBio Guardian XL compares the user’s fingerprint with the stored mathematical code instead. Because of this, there is no way to extract the fingerprint data from the unit and the codes cannot be used to create a copy of your fingerprint. This feature is a very valuable safety feature!

BioCert iQBio Guardian XL can hold up to 30 different codes, which means that 30 different users can access it. Also, the system assigns administrator privileges to up to two users. These administrators are the only persons who have the power to add more users and they can also delete current users at any time they wish.

BioCert iQBio Guardian XL runs on 4 AA-size batteries. A good thing about this lock is that it needs no wake-up codes to start the scanning system. Unlike other scanners which require some kind of code to activate the scanning mechanism, BioCert iQBio Guardian XL automatically “senses” your finger and starts the scanning mechanism automatically, giving its users more convenience while consuming less power.

For emergency purposes, BioCert iQBio Guardian XL also comes with PIN codes and mechanical keys. Mechanical keys made for BioCert iQBio Guardian XL cannot be duplicated so security is assured.

So if you’re looking for a biometric fingerprint-scanning lock for everyday home or office use, BioCert iQBio Guardian XL is the product that you’ll need to keep the secrets in and the criminals out!
