This will be a consumer report on the various brands and companies out there offering alarm monitoring services.
First stop is Brink’s Home Security. Brink’s emergency response center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. Once your alarm goes off, the intruder is greeted with a 90-decibel alarm. Wow, that will surely hurt his or her ears, right?
The alarm will also be sent to the emergency response center. Mind you, its signal travels through fiber optic cables ensuring its speed and clarity. Of course, Brink’s has a highly secure alternative phone routes in case of a power blackout. Brink’s security alarm also notifies you that it has detected a dangerous level of carbon monoxide in your home. Now, isn’t that more than a reason to get this particular product? What’s more, all of Brink’s employees – especially in their emergency response center – are highly trained professionals. They do have several – their security consultants, their installation technicians and their rapid response center operators. Take note, their installation technicians are certified by the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association.
Now, take a look at their home security equipment. They have the door/window sensors, the motion detector, the carbon monoxide detector, the glassbreak detector, the temperature sensor, among others.
I’m quite interested with the carbon monoxide detector so I’ll write about that. Of course, carbon monoxide is produced by burning wood, kerosene, cooking gas or charcoal. If your appliance is malfunctioning, there is great possibility that carbon monoxide emitting from it is at a dangerous level. The carbon monoxide detector acts as your rescuer.
Now, for the pricing. Premium installation is at a one-time cost of $205 while monthly monitoring is as low as $28.99.
For the next stop, I’ll introduce to you ADT Security Services. ADT Security Services home division offers a monthly alarm monitoring package with the following features: monitored burglary, motion detector, indoor siren, two doors/windows sensors and one emergency button. All systems include a backup power supply. Installation fee is at $349 and monthly monitoring fee is at $32.99. This is relatively more expensive than Brink’s because ADT is a division of Tyco, the leading expert in accidental fire containment in the country. Tyco offers a variety of brands like fire extinguishers and the like.
For example, its Scott Eagle X Thermal Imaging Camera is very vital in saving lives in cases of fire. The camera can see through smoke and flames through thermal imaging of course.
